Chief Meteorologist of Met office Anjum Bari on Monday forecast another rain spell during the next three days in upper Balochistan and Northern Areas. Speaking in a PTV programme, he said the intensity of the rain would be much lower as compared to last rain spell in the country. However, during the next three days, another rain spell would be entered first in upper Balochistan and latter it would move towards Northern Areas, he added.

To a question, he said no more rain was expected in NWFP, Punjab and Sindh during this spell.

He said the areas of Balochistan and Sindh had witnessed drought-like condition during last few years but both have received enough rain during the current year.

The Met office Chief said the winter rain had improved under-ground water level situation, adding that water situation in Simly, Khanpur and Rawal dams and big reservoirs such as Tarbella and Mangla were much encouraging. However, he said, both the dams would be in full capacity when the process of snow melting would start. To a question about snowfall in Rawalpindi, he said it is not surprising as 40 years back some areas of Rawalpindi had received snowfall. Anjum Bari said current rain spell in the country will have positive effects on wheat and other rabi crops.
